KidsWatch is a parental control solution which offers complete surveillance over children's activities on a selected computer. It regulates multiple users' time spent at the computer, program access, and Internet use. Reports can be generated for most of the activities performed by the monitored user.
After the program's installation, a setup for Windows accounts is offered. It helps to choose an Administrator account, unrestricted accounts, and several types of restricted child accounts. Depending on the age selected for a specific account, the program automatically restricts access to certain Internet content, or keyword searches. Each account's restrictions can also be set manually.
Program access options allow you to restrict the installation or use of selected applications. You can also prevent modification of important system settings, like network connections, display settings, or user accounts.
Reporting options include the of the websites and programs accessed, and full conversations from most popular instant messaging clients. Facebook and Myspace chats are also recorded. Reports can be accessed from the program's interface or automatically sent to a set e-mail. Real-time alerts can be also received by e-mail when users try to perform forbidden actions.
A warning system for the users is also available, notifying them when the allotted time has expired, or when they try to access restricted sites or programs.
